I have not heard of any reason that anyone should not use whey protein based on age, it comes from milk and that is considered a good protein source especially since your body is rapidly growing at that age. Always make sure you drink enough water so that it's easy for your kidneys, and a good idea to blend with frozen berries when you can for all those good antioxidants!

Is this shake is for general health/weight loss or weight gain?? The product description doesn't specify it's uses and I would hate to spend the money on a product that is gonna make me "bulk up". Thanks for your replies.

Protein helps repair muscle tissue that is broken down after a workout. It will not cause you to bulk up. You would need to be lifting heavy and eating a ton of calories for that and even them it is hard for women to gain "bulk".

Whey protein is fast digesting and optimum is the brand I love the most!

It's not for loss or gain specifically. It's for maintaining or gaining muscle. I take it in between meals or after working out at the gym to maintain my muscle mass and I am in no way trying to bulk up. But I'm sure bulking up is possible if you take too much at a time and add other stuff to it.

Best Answer: The vanilla is great but seriously i love the cookies and crean and the rockie road way more! I do 1 scoop of whey and one half cup of milk and a half cup of some pureed berry or half of a banana then i put about 5 ice cubes in a pint mason jar and shake it good then put in the freezer for before the jim. Its like a rich yummy milkshake or you can blend it up with the ice cubes then freeze it. I have one usually after my work out or before. Either way i eat on the opposite end. Glen
