Best Answer:  Hi -- first I need to be clear that I'm not a biochemist, just a longtime user of quercetin/bromelain with a moderately scientific bent! In the "Other Ingredients" list, the gelatin is what the capsule is made of. The other three ingredients are inert substances added to the quercetin and bromelain for various reasons -- this is standard practice. The microcrystalline cellulose is actually finally powdered wood pulp. It is usually added as bulk or to enhance flow (i.e. keep the powder from clumping). The magnesium stearate is usually added as a lubricant -- I suspect to keep the ingredients from sticking to the gelatin capsule. Finally, silicon dioxide or silica is a form of very finely powdered quartz that is found everywhere in nature including in living tissue and is probably added here for flow-ability, if there is such a word. I assume you are planning to open the capsule and sprinkle the contents over your cat's food? My guess is that none of these inert ingredients are potential allergens (respectively wood pulp, a fatty substance that is a major component of soap scum, and quartz, respectively), and in fact quercetin has been shown in some studies to have certain antihistaminic properties for what that's worth, but I am *not* a vet nor an allergist. Best Answer:  Take this combination on an empty stomach. Both are anti-inflammatories and enhance each other, plus bromelain helps the quercetin absorb into your bloodstream faster. Bromelain taken with food acts as a digestive enzyme and you would not get the anti-pain benefits. Hope this helps.

Best Answer:  All I can tell you is that I have taken 3 of these per day with one Zyrtec for years now and my nasal issues that lead to massive sinus infections have all but disappeared! I used to have 6-8 major infections every year and be on antibiotics for at least 100 days per year. Now I might get 1-2 very small infections each year. I love this stuff! I think it's worth a try for several months for you. What do you have to lose other than a few dollars?
