great product!! I started taking this a couple of years ago and withing 10 days my knee felt significantly better. Now 2 years later and my knee feels better then it has in 30 years. I snow ski and all last season - no pain. My knee feels great every day!!!!!

Can this pill be cut in half?

We have the 400mg tablets and both are solid oval pills so they could be cut, but they are dense and hard without any score line, so it may not be easy.

My husband takes them, and I don't know whether they can be cut in half (I don't see why not) but they are not large pills.

Just started using SAMe. Not sure if its a side effect or unrelated but, my gums are sore. Began almost immediately after first dose. Anyone else get this effect?thanks,Jean

JeanI have been using Sam-e for two years now and have not had sore gums. I don't know if its related or not but that's a good question for your doctor. Sorry I wasn't much help.

Hi Jean,Well, I've never had a problem of any kind with this supplement. However, I looked it up on the Mayo clinic website.It says I cannot include a hyperlink in my response.So, if you'll go to the Mayo Clinic website & enter SAMe, you will find what I'm talking about.Closest it comes to your problem it says SAMe could cause dry mouth. But I suggest you read the info on the website carefully. You may have other things going on that causes your problem.I've never looked up this supplement before. Geez, seems like a lot of stuff can be caused by it. Guess I'm just lucky in not having a reaction.Good luck. Lou

I have not noticed my gums being sore, but I also have been taking this kind of SAM-e for about a year or so. It may be something in the SAMe but I am not sure in this case. Sorry I could not be of more help!Charlotte

Does this product have Mannitol? I heard Mannitol can make the product hurt the stomach

I have a tricky stomach and have not experienced trouble from using this product. How big are these tablets, please? Are they hard to swallow?

They are round yellow and 3/8 an inch diameter. Easy to swallow, I can’t even feel them going down with water.
