Pills are too big
I have taken these for years and like this brand. I also need the Triple strength. Originally these were fine to swallow, then they were changed and you couldn't swallow them. Then they were ok for awhile but now they are huge, no coating or very little, and edges are sharp. I can no longer buy these and would not recommend to anyone. They cost way too much to waste on a bottle that you cannot swallow.

Clean contents
Yes they are huge, but I take them alone with pill end first, no problem. NO added with Boswallia, collagen, biotin (inaccurate bloodwork) manganese, vitamin c which I may or may not take in different quantities. Also many other brands add talc or titanium dioxide. It seems to be high in price, but larger dose and BOGO make the 240 about 14cents a pill and it lasts 8 months!

Bovine derived ingredients
Unfortunately the "Product Info/Supplement Facts" on the VS web page does not display the entire contents listed on the bottle, and I did not realize that until I had started taking it. I am fine with shellfish, it's the bovine (not listed anywhere on the web page description, though it's on the bottle) that I am allergic to.
Also, the capsules are the size "actual size" depicted on the side of bottle...both width AND depth! They are huge with squared-off sides/edges. The few that I did take, I had to throw in the Vitamix with my green smoothie to get down.

The size of the pills have changed
The size of the pills have changed and they are extremely difficult to swallow. I have to use a pill cutter in order be able to swallow the pills.

I had to throw the pills out. They are HUGE. I chocked on them even after cutting them in half. One got lodged in my throat. I was quite frightened. I should have returned them for a possible refund.

Outstanding product
I had been purchasing this product at another store, after placing my order and receiving the product I have to say it was cheaper and I could order on-line a product with a larger quantity at The Vitamin Shoppe (TVS). I strongly recommend you purchase all of your vitamins and supplements from TVS.

Best Answer:  This is not an anti-inflamatory. This product actually causes water gain in tissues and may complicate your problem.

Isn't glucosamene + condrotin just a bunch of bs? I read studiesthat this stuff is the same as placebo.

Best Answer:  Tom, I had problems with joint aching/grinding of my knees, particularly my right knee, when ascending or descending stairs. I began taking glucosamine / chondroitin supplements, and the problems went away. That was a few years ago. Natural healing does work!
You've got to ask yourself: Who is funding these studies with the questionable results? And what is their primary motive?
The answer, in a lot of instances, is large pharmaceutical companies. Motive? Well...you can make your own assessment.
Or, one can do what millions of older Americans do...knee, hip, or other joint replacement; the need for which is mainly caused by nutrient deficiencies.
As for me, I prefer glucosamine / chondroitin supplements. They are far less expensive and less painful than surgery!

What is the strength of each - Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM? I didn't notice it listed on the picture of the bottle.

Best Answer:  1 tablet contains 1/2 of the most common, and most researched/tested, daily dose, which is 1500 Gluco & 1200 Chrond. I'm not aware of an equiv std for MSM. 500 mg/day of MSM would be on the conservative side, however. It is also more than the misleading, and very low dose amts found in many products. I like the fact that you are getting the full normal daily dose, in just 2 tablets a day.

Is there a triple strength glucosamine chondroitin MSM on the market that is easy to swallow? I have two bottles of OSTEO BI-FLEX triple strength "easy to swallow" capsules, but I can no longer get them down. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Best Answer:  I take this brand all the time and have been doing so for several years now.
In the past, I used to take one of this specific brand, once a day up to 5 days a week. But mostly, it is every other day for 3 pills in a week.

I no longer need to take it every day as my knees and shoulder aches have completely subsided - I basically do 3 times a week for maintenance...

Best Answer:  NO, it is not animal free! The Chrondroitin Sulfate is Bovine derived (not listed on the web page, but if you zoom into the Supplement Facts on the side of the bottle you can actually see there). Also, the label clearly states that this product contains crab, lobster, shrimp.
