Is this product free of mercury and pesticides? Has anyone experienced flatulence and/or diarrhea while taking this product?

Best Answer:  I don't think so. Labdoor analyzed the pill form from the Vitamin Shoppe and I'm assuming the ingredients are the same. No, it is not mercury free, or free of environmental toxins. That's probably why customer service hasn't answered this question. It contains 1 PPB (Upper Limit = 10 PPB) of Mercury, and <0.01 PPM (Upper Limit = 0.09 PPM) of environmental toxins. I haven't ordered it so I can't tell you of the effects though.

why is soy being added to fish oil?? soy is harmful to health and inferior to fish oil so say the least.are there any pure fish oils anymore??

How long does this product stay fresh after opening before going rancid? And how do you know if it goes rancid? And is this product supposed to be free of mercury? Thanks!

Best Answer:  I store mine in the fridge and never have to worry about it going rancid.

Best Answer:  The Omega 3 Fatty acid we get from plants, like chia, hemp, flax and other seeds is ALA, a short chain fatty acid. Our bodies cannot efficiently convert ALA to EPA and DHA, longer chain fatty acids. It is estimated we would need to eat four servings of cold water fish each week to get enough EPA & DHA. We still need to take EPA & DHA. Find a trusted brand and investigate their website to find out about their manufacturing processes.

Best Answer:  It tastes mostly lemony to me but I don't mind the fishy flavors. YOu might want to stick with the pills and freeze them first.

Best Answer:  It should be only as Omega 3 oil, and this one has EPA/DHA. Customer Support should help.

How does the taste compare to Carlson Lemon Liquid FIsh Oil?

Best Answer:  The vitamin shop in-store sales person in East Brunswick New Jersey said that the source/supplier of the fish oil for Carlson, which I have been taking for many years, is the same as the vitamin shoppe brand. I would like to confirm that somehow but this would help explain why it tastes the same.

Best Answer:  On the bottle it only says 'Store in a cool, dry place.'. So it seems like it doesn't need refrigeration.
