      This brand is more affordable than the Vitamin Shoppe brand, however the Vitamin Shoppe brand tastes better by far. I still recommend this because of the price and the taste is tolerable and after awhile of not using the Vitamin shoppe brand the taste becomes negligible.

        L-glutamine is an amino acid and has nothing to do with gluten from grains; so to answer your question, yes it is gluten free.

      Many food items and supplements that are not made from grains are contaminated with gluten and are not safe for people who need to avoid gluten, such as people with Celiac. This product description does state that it does not contain gluten so hopefully that means that it is safe. However, please do not assume that a product is gluten free if you do not know whether it is safe from cross contamination. You cannot always tell from ingredients alone. That is why people with health concerns ask if a product is gluten free rather than simply reading the ingredient label.

        Glutamine is a great product to use to help you with recovery. I take it in my pre-workout drink as well as post-workout. Its best if you spread out the remaining servings throughout the day.

        L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in one's body. which is the building blocks to muscle generation. The harder and longer you work out the more glutamine you burn . For extended workouts and heavy lifting and intense cardio, supplementation of l-glutamine is a must for recovery of muscle tissue. Purchase a product that has certification on the label to ensure quality. Vitamin Shoppe products for the most part are solid products.

        I was taking it to fix my stomach problems. I dont know if it worked or not, and i stopped using it after a little while so the results were inconclusive. I just eat a healthy diet now, and have stopped eating all the foods that cause me issues like dairy, gluten, sugar, preservatives, etc. No supplement has been able to do what removing these foods has done for my health. And im saving money by not buying supplements and eating less.

      What amount of water should I mix in with a serving?

        Jose, I use it after a weight training work out with Creatine, and instead of water I use about 8 ounces of any kind of juice. This is because I want my muscles to get glucose along with the L-Glutamine.

        I don't think it matters as long as you get a mixture you can stand to drink. I mix it in my protein shake and cannot even taste it. I use a 20 oz. shaker bottle - 2-3 scoops of flavored protein powder of choice, a scoop of L-glutamine and BCAA, add skim milk or water and shake it up. All I can taste is the flavor of the protein powder.

        I mix in minimum of 4oz water & then drink another 8oz (to help kidneys clear it.) you can also mix in other fluids, but read somewhere not to mix in hot fluids (breaks down.)

      Is this micronized, pharmaceutical grade glutamine? I used to use the AllMax brand, however I am very please with the Vitamin Shoppe brand products I have tried, especially the Whey Protein Blend.
