Slippery Elm
I take the recommended number of drops at least twice a day. It soothes my stomach and digestive system. It's great because it's easy to use and effective. The only negative thing is that it contains alcohol. I wish there was an alcohol free option.

Best Answer:  A dropperful (or two) mixed with a dropperful of Coltsfoot extract, when mixed with two tablespoonfuls of honey makes an effective cough suppressant without all the "weird" side effects of OTC syrups. I find it just as effective as the codeine-laced prescription syrups.

Best Answer:  Yes. It reduces inflammation, lubricates the digestive tract, and eases discomfort from coughing. Mix with food --- dosage depends on weight of dog. Do not use with pregnant animal.
