website and bottle differ
On the website under product info it states the amounts for 2 caps, for the required amount 2 caps 3 times a day (total 6 caps). When I received the bottle it states 3 caps a serving to get same required amount 3 caps 3 times a day-total 9 caps. I bought product because I only needed to take 6 caps, now I'm stuck with having to take 9 along with my other supplements, way too many!

compare the nutritional info & stay away
what a ripoff!!! so very disappointed. Tired of waiting for my regular order to come in. I ran to the vitamin Shoppe and purchased their calcium citrate plus magnesium and vitamin D. For giggles I compare the ingredients, the calcium and vitamin Shoppe per serving is 1/3 of the KAL BRAND AND OF COURSE, I OPENED IT RIGHT AWAY. SO VERY, VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Suppresses Appetite(?)
Is it possible this combination of calcium/magnesium/vitamin d suppresses my appetite? If I'm not eating I have less hot flashes, and noticed less hot flashes while taking this combination. I like it so much I ordered each vitamin separately since the Vitamin Shoppe has been sold out of this combo for at least a month (that's kind of aggravating). Finally, an older review accurately points out the serving size discrepancy between the online label pic. and the actual bottle label

Serving size on website label needs correction.
Just an FYI. As of now, the label shown online states serving size is 2 capsules (this was in fact the case for many years) The label on the jar I received today states serving size is 3 capsules and the mg remains the same. For example, the calcium is still 333 mg for a 3 capsule serving. So, it seems the product has been watered down. I advised the Vitamin Shoppe and they state that they will correct the online label. My rating is only 2 stars due to the online error and the watering down but I give 5 stars to Vitamin Shoppe customer service

I have taken these for years. Please bring these back! The capsules were easier to swallow and the combination allows for best absorption. I have not been able to find a replacement.

Why did you choose this?

This calcium with magnesium and vitamin D works to maintain my calcium without being constipated.

Been taking for years

I’m lactose intolerant and need calcium. This is the best kind I know of.

bones

The present ones I have are huge, almost 3/4 inch long. what is the size of the capsule?
Is this product manufactured in the USA?

Best Answer:  I would call/contact Customer Service for Vitamin Shoppe and ask that question. It is a legitimate concern and I checked on the bottle and it does say the product was manufactured FOR Vitamin Shoppe but not necessarily where. Customer Service is your best bet to start. They have always been helpful to me.

Is the gelatin bovine or porcine ? Or what??
Is this product standardized so that the amount is the same in each capsule?

See Calcium. Magnesium is an important mineral to add in the supplement regieme.

Can you please tell me the milligrams of calcium citrate, magnesium, and vitamin D in this product?

Contrary to the label and description on this website it takes 3 Capsules (not 2) to get the following: Calcium Citrate: 333mg; Vit. D: 204 IU; Magnesium: 189 mg. Vitamin Shoppe has been advised of this error many times and in many ways of communication (reviews, email and phone calls) This has been going on for at least 2 years and they do nothing about it....so at this point it is no longer a human error, but is fraud!

Each capsule contains: Calcium Citrate: 333mg; Vit. D: 204 IU; Magnesium: 189 mgServing size is 2 capsules, to be taken 3x a day with meals, so multiply the amounts by 6 for a daily dose. 6 a day will give you 100% daily value of calcuim. The others are over 100%. I only take 4 day, 2 with breakfast, 2 at night, since I get these minerals from other sources as well. Seems to work well for me.

I was wrong in my first reply. My apologies. The type is so small. I wrongly said that EACH capsule contains the amounts, but it is actually: Each SERVING of TWO CAPSULES contains 333mg of Calcium, 204 iu of Vitamin D, and 189mg of Magnesium.Recommended dose is 2 capsules, 3x a day, preferably with each meal.

I can be of no further help than what is on the label... and... The label says the dose per serving is Vitamin D - 204 IU, Calcium - 333 mg, and Magnesium -

I'm sorry. I would like to answer this question, but I don't have the container anymore to look up the milligrams.

My previous entry chopped off the last dose when it was posted... It was Magnesium - 189 mg

I no longer have a bottle available but perhaps the details on the site can help.

I just bought this and want to know if the pills look like clear capsules with white powder filling?

Yes! If you happen to hiccough after ingesting them you will get white powder reflux!

No they are white capsules, not clear.

  Yes, it is

  Exactly ~

  Yes

If I read the label correctly, I would need to take 8 pills per day to get 1200 daily dose. Is this correct?Thank you

With calcium, there is a drawback with the 'powder in a gelcap' version. You do not get as much in one pill as you do with the solid ones you get at the drugstore. But I always question how much of those your body absorbs. Do you get the entire 1200?

I only take 6/day because I also get calcium in my multi vitamin. I've got osteoarthritis so I need the max dosage. Between this product and my multi vitamin I get what I need. Good product.

That is correct. It would be a little more than 1200, but since they are capsules, you would have to take 8 to get to 1200.

If that is what the recommended dosage is, that would be correct.

I must avoid wheat, lactose and soy. The website states this product has "NO yeast, corn, wheat, sugar, salt, soy, starch, dairy, citrus, fish, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors added." But does that mean this product is really free of wheat, lactose and soy? Has anyone tried this who has celiac disease? Thank you.

Good question, and unfortunately I cannot answer for this specific condition. I am a bariatric bypass patient who must take a calcium citrate supplement for life at a minimum of 1800 mgs a day. This has proven itself as easy to take, and I have passed my blood tests using this supplement as my source. If soy, wheat, or lactose were there in any material form, one would think it would show a rating for protein or sugar, since soy and wheat are a protein source, and lactose is a form of sugar.

Hi Susan, although the Vitamin Shoppe products seem comparable to other branded ones, if you are trying to be conscious of some ingredients because of a condition, I suggest you look for brands that are called Whole Food / Natural. Another brand that my parents trust is Solgar. They are a bit pricey though, but our instincts tell us it is worth the extra amount. I also do some research on the brand / company's website as well.

  Yes, soy protein.

Thank you for replying to my inquiry. If you don't mind I would like further clarification. Do you mean to say the product contains soy protein? Or do you mean to say the product is free of soy protein? Free of gluten? Or do you mean you need to avoid soy protein and you found this product is ok for you? Something else? Thank you again.

What is the strength in milligrams of Calcium, Manganesium and Vitamin D for each individual pill or or cap?Hy

Best Answer:  The amount of the serving / dosage is what is listed. Since it takes 2 capsules to make up this amount - see bottle ingredients listing - divide those numbers by 2 and you will have the amount of ingredients per capsule.

I have been taking Caltrate, which is calcium carbonate with Vitamin D. Have always had some issues with constipation, and am thinking I should switch to a calcium citrate such as this. Any feedback regarding this issue?

Best Answer:  I have never had a problem.

Maintain the Proper Balance Between K2, D3 & Calcium, With This Delicious, Vegan Gummy. Let these vitamins work synergistically for your health. Our delicious K2 + D3 Calcium gummies, with three flavors in one: Peach, Mango & Apricot, are made from vegan Lichen and Natto. Very few foods in nature contain vitamin D and most D3 supplements are sourced from lanolin - the fat of lamb's wool; ours is sourced from wild-crafted, vegan Lichen. Our K2 is sourced from Natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soybean product, which is the highest food source of natural K2. The process of fermentation and extraction naturally removes soy from the product. It is estimated that 80% of Americans do not get enough K2 in their diet, comparable to the deficiency rate of vitamin D. The combination of Vitamins D3 and K2 is crucial in aiding the body in Calcium absorption, keeping your bones strong and healthy and your arteries clear of blockages.
