How is magnesium oxide different from iron oxide in that there is no carbon atom biologically bound to the mineral? This is simply an oxidized form of the metal, and since humans can't photosynthesize inorganic minerals to make them biologically available as can plants, then how is this any different from eating a handful of dirt?
Will Magnesium Oxide help with Constipation?

Best Answer:  NO!! Magnesium Oxide makes it worse. Choose magnesium clelate or magnesium glycinate instead.

Magnesium Oxide 400 MG (200 Capsules)

Magnesium oxide helps to support heart and muscle health. This mineral also promotes normal cell function, robust nerve responses, and strong bones. Although magnesium is found in foods like beans, nuts, and green, leafy vegetables, many people's bodies – due to diet, stress or other factors – may prevent them from accessing or using enough of this essential mineral.

While magnesium is readily available in many foods, only 30 to 40 percent of dietary magnesium that people consume is usually absorbed by the body, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Some foods and substances, like soda and alcohol, can limit magnesium absorption, either by rendering it unusable for your system or by causing rapid excretion. Stress, certain medications, and some chronic diseases can also reduce magnesium absorption in the body. People who suffer from magnesium deficiency may feel its effects every day through muscle cramps, chronic pain, and fatigue.

The NIH's Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of magnesium for adult men is between 400 and 420 mg of magnesium each day on average. The RDA for adult women is between 310 and 320 mg daily. Because magnesium is essential for normal bodily functions, you might be considering magnesium oxide capsules to get enough of it. Magnesium oxide capsules with 400 mg of this essential nutrient to help keep your heart, nerves, bones, and other systems function properly.
