I have been taking CoQ-10 for many years. I have used a variety of brands, and am trying The Vitamin Shoppe brand for the first time. I have only taken this brand for four days, and I don't feel any different. That is good because I am healthy and want to remain so.

Profile: 31 yr. male. Healthy. Active. 60% raw foods. At my age, can I begins to take 50mls of ubiquinol? Ps. I should be taking uniquinol and not ubiquinone, right? Thank you all!

  I have read that as you age the bodies ability to manufacture COQ10 starts to diminish and the best way to supplement this lack is with Ubiquinol. I'm 72 and take one every day after lunch. It also helps the immune system's ability to fight off infections, so when I feel something coming on, I take the 100 mgs, otherwise, I take 50mgs. Good luck.

  Hi, seeing that you are active, I would start taking the ubiquinol. Ubiquinol is the more bioavailable type, so that's what you want to take.

Anne, thank you for taking your time in replying. I appreciate that! I'm thinking of starting out with 30-50mls. And will increase as my suit ages. Although I'm 31, i feel that it will bring me longevity. It won't hurt :)) so, is Ubiquinol more effective than Ubiquinone? I know once the mitochondria recieves it, it will then change it to the opposite form. Ubiquinol to ubiquinone. Ubiqunone to Ubiquinol. Again, thank you! Blessings :)

I have tried active (100mg) and inactive (300mg) CoQ10 and both times developed a rash by my ankles and a slight cough (These 2 of the many reactions typically produced with this product). Has anyone had these reactions with the 50mg? Thanks

  I have not had a rash with 50mg. but did experience headaches. I currently use 30 mg twice daily without side effects. Thanks and good health to you.

  CoQ10 is ubiquinone. Our body has to turn that into ubiquinol. As one gets older it is harder for the body to do this and much is wasted and not absorbed. If you are over your late twenties, in age, ubiquinol should be used as it is highly absorbed. I recommend 200 mg/ day. If you have cardiovascular issues, take 200 mg TWICE per day for 3 weeks and then a maintenance dose of 200 mg/day.

  Ubiquinol is what ubiquinone will be broken down to in the body. Why waste time taking Coq 10 when you can go right to ubiquinol. I have tried both and I prefer the ubiquinol.

  Ubiquinone is not quite as bio-available as Ubiquinol. The body takes Ubiquinone and converts it to Ubiquinol. I prefer the Ubiquinol and take one 200 mg caplet per day.
