While I was on an ultra low carb, high protein diet, I suffered from the worst, uncontrollable, inhuman, unfathomable, toxic, eye watering, throat burning, all encompassing gas the world had ever experienced. It seemed as if I was venting exhaust directly from the 7th circle of hell.

I've used many, many different brands of enzymes and this one worked the best for me. No other brand came close. But then they added peppermint oil (last ingredient), and now I cannot take it. Peppermint Oil relaxes LES sphincter which causes terrible acid reflux. Do not take if you suffer from heartburn or GERD (at least until they stop adding peppermint oil to this product).

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Multi Enzyme - 100 Tablets:

        1. Yes, the pills do smell. My solution: put the container in a zip lock bag. Solves that problem.

        2. The peppermint oil is not needed. As others have said, this contributes to the heart burn that many of us are feeling. If VitaminShoppe is actually reading this, please remove this ingredient. It does not help in masking the smell either.

        3. The pills did not leave a bad taste in my mouth. They do smell but after I take them out of the bag and swallow them, there are no other issues with regarding the smell.

        4. I have noticed a tremendous difference in me feeling bloated or gassy when taking these pills after eating. They do work if you can get over the smell.

        5. Please, for the love of all that is holy, please take out the peppermint oil. This would be a perfect product without it.

        The end.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Multi Enzyme - 100 Tablets:

I would like to review the performance of this product but I won't be taking it long enough to find out. The smell is an overwhelming Fishy-Mint smell. Some reviewers said it's been improved and taste like mint. Well, mint may have been added but it certainly didn't help. It reminds me of when people opt for a perfume bath instead of showering...the stink still remains.

Comments about the Vitamin Shoppe Multi Enzyme - 100 Tablets:

I have been suffering from acid reflux for many many years. Depending on your situation, you either have too much acid (this is what everyone wants to tell you) or too little known as a weak stomach. You can easily find this out by downing some apple cider vinegar when the acid reflux starts. If this solves the problem then you're probably suffereing from a weak stomach like I was.

I was to the point where even drinking water gave me heartburn. I decided to give this product a try last week and I can tell you that it has been over 90% effective for me. The acid reflux is completely gone and the gas/bloating is 90% contained. The acid was the killer which this took care of. If you have stomach issues, I would give this a try and see if it helps. It's also very inexpensive which makes it a killer product in my book.

Ok, so I read all of the reviews before I purchased this product and wasn't sure whether to believe the people that said it smelled terrible because there were a few who said they thought it was fine. They must be crazy! This stuff really does smell awful. I held out hope for it, but it really does smell so bad that I do not plan on ordering it. They did try to mask some of the smell with peppermint oil, but that almost makes it worse. Sad.

I recently ordered this product for the first time and was horrified by the smell. I have no idea if this product actually works or not because the odor was so strong and nauseating that I was unable to even try it. I have never gotten a bad product from this site until now. Very disappointed.

I have been taking the product for over a month. It really helps my digestion. In regards to the reported taste, per instruction on bottle one is supposed to swallow instead of chewing it, I did not ever a chance to taste it. The product helped me with digestion.

This is a great product. I take this along with HCL Pepsin and no longer need Prilosec or Prevacid

Great price and has the pancreatin and HCL you can't find in all vegetarian products.
