Comments about Vitamin Shoppe Vitamin K2 - 60 Veggie Caps:

Vitamin-K2 is one of those vitamins no one really knows about but is extremely important for absorption of Vitamin-D. Without it, Vitamin-D can turn to calcium deposits in your arteries. The Vitamin Shop's K-2 is great quality at a great price. Everywhere else I've found this vitamin, it's much more expensive. Delivery took only 2 days!

Comments about Vitamin Shoppe Vitamin K2 - 60 Veggie Caps:

I too was looking for the MK-7 versus the shorter duration MK-4. It would have been fine for me if it was just the K2 and not the D3 as well since I take that separately. This is the second time I have ordered this product and I am very pleased with it.

Comments about Vitamin Shoppe Vitamin K2 - 60 Veggie Caps:

I was looking for a good K2 supplement in the form of MK-7, (as opposed to MK-4. MK-7 is I believe the naturally occurring form and stays in the body longer than 4) and am very happy with this product.

                Julian J G: Hi Vanessa H,
I already discarded the bottle of Vit K2, so I cannot be sure that the soy component is organic. However, I have bought many Vitaming Shoppe products over several years and so far none of them contained GMO components.

Tara B: That's a good question! I don't know the answer to that but I would guess that if it is not listed as organic, you can assume it is not. Being organic is a good selling point and I assume it would be labeled if it was. Vitamin K2 doesn't have to be made from the fermentation of soybeans. There are two types of K2 and both are very good for you. I have made the switch from the fermented form (MK-7) to the fat-soluble form (MK-4) which is made from animal fats. I don't digest anything fermented very well and there is also the GMO concern that you raised which is why I made the switch. And of course there is K1, which is from plant sources. It is also good but maybe a little harder for the body to convert. Carlson's makes the MK-4 version. Don't be alarmed by the higher dosage (5mg) because this form of K2 requires this. It is a safe dose to take. Feb 21, 2013

Phred L: I understand you are hesitant to consume GMO's. The part of the soy that is modified is the part that makes certain proteins in the plant. This vitamin is extracted from the natto and the questionable proteins are left behind. I've been taking this vitamin for years.

Soy has several issues unrelated to the GMO. I don't consume it regardless of whether it is GMO.

                Good Luck,

                Tara B: Hi Linda,

There are 9 versions of vitamin K2 but really just two of them are commonly on the market. One is called MENAQUINONE-7 and is made by a fermentation process. The other is called MENATETRENONE (also known as MK4) and is made from animals. Research seems to suggest that MK4 is better at preserving bone but both forms will help. If you decide to try MK4, don't be put off by the much higher dosages, they are correct for that type of K2.
This version (MK7) is good for vegetarians but maybe not so great if you are really sensitive to yeast or mold. My husband does well on it but I use MK7 for myself because of I am so sensitive to yeast.
To answer your question about this product, most MK7 products are not made from Natto so I am fairly sure this one is not either.

Jason B asked: This product has been recommended to me by several people but I see that there is a problem within the supplement industry as to the accuracy of the amount of supplement contained within the product being what is listed on the bottle. Does this product have a seal from USP or NSF International that verifies the amount of Vitamin D is what is claimed to be on the packaging? Mar 21, 2013
