Product Fits My Needs

The smaller capsules are easy to swallow, which is why I chose this particular product.
Also has the right amount of daily calcium, which I split up among two meals. And the price was right!

Great way to get your calcium

I was looking for a different way to take my calcium. The ones I used to take were so chalky and sometimes hard to swallow. These go right down easily, and I am very pleased with them.

Reasonably priced

Remember, if you are prescribed "elemental" calcium by your doctor, calcium carbonate is only 40% elemental. So if you are required to take 1200mg of elemental calcium, each 1000mg capsule contains 400mg of elemental calcium so you would need to take 3/1000mg capsules to get your 1200mg of elemental calcium.

Calcium in softgels - small, easy to swallow

Love this, as it comes in smaller softgels which are much easier to swallow than those huge tablets. Because of this more convenient sizing, I don't even mind I have to take 4 softgels a day ... simply due to the increased comfort of swallowing. Never going back to big pills, as even swallowed separately from anything else they would hurt going down.

Half the quantiy/same cost/ no notice

I've been ordering this product for a few years and believe the product to be quality. However, on my recent order, it turns out that the dosage had been cut in half, but the same price was charged. The new pills have been made into 4 serving sizes that used to be 2 serving sizes.

300 tablets at 1000mg now only lasts for 75 servings instead of 150 as it used to. I looked after receiving my order and it does state the revised dosage info on the site, but unless one keeps track of those details, one will just reorder, expecting the same product to arrive as usual. I believe VS should have made a highlighted note on the product description.

I had enjoyed having a vitamin/supplement source I felt I could trust. I feel deceived by the company now and am returning the product. I will not be ordering from Vitamin Shoppe any longer because of this.

I have been taking calcium for a while , but this is the first time I purchased Vitamin Shoppe brand calcium.
I like that it shows you the actual size of the pill on the side of the bottle and it is so much easier to swallow the softgels

Good daily calcium supplement

I have premature osteoporosis of the spine and have to take at least 1000mg of calcium every day. I like these because they are gel caps, making them tasteless and easy to swallow, and I only have to take four caps a day. And the price is right. Vit D is included, but I take a vit D supplement with them anyway.

Best Answer: The higher priced formula is a 2 softgel serving for 1000mg of calcium. The lower priced item would be 1000mg of calcium for a 4 softgel serving size. This is the key difference between the two supplements.
