    Works well
When taken with other sister supplements this seems to work well. I've been taking it for years and don't plan to stop. The capsule doesn't seem to upset my stomach like some do either.

    VShoppe Expiration Bad Practice
Vitamin Shoppe, what's going on? You keep sending me expired NAC and try to cover it up with ghetto stickers that show a newly printed expiration date. This is just bad practice.

Original Expiration Dates COVERED OVER with NEW STICKERS and NEW DATES
It MIGHT BE A GOOD PRODUCT, but Vitamin Shoppe sent me EXPIRED BOTTLES, WITH STICKERS COVERING OVER THE ACTUAL EXPIRATION DATES. The stickers had NEW EXPIRATION DATES, that JUST HAPPENED TO BE EXACTLY 1 YEAR AFTER THE REAL EXPIRATION DATES THAT WERE STAMPED ON THE BOTTLES. How do you think that happened?

    Bad reviewers got it wrong!
For the reviewers complaining about the smell...it's SUPPOSED to smell!!! A sulfur or rotten egg smell. They aren't expired or rotten. If they don't smell, than you're not getting cysteine, you're getting cystine. Not the same.

    Expiration dates not always accurate
It's good when the expiration date is good
I believe it gets foul smelling when it's old - like oxidation.
For some reason lately noticed labels with a year or 2 are added to modify the expiration date on the bottom of the bottles. I know I sure wouldn't want that to happen with my prescription meds - wouldn't want it done on anything I ingest. I only try and purchase those without a modified date.

    Why did you choose this?

It’s the only thing that cured my trichotillomania. This brand only. It keeps me from pulling my hair out.

    Good quality product.

    The reviews were decent.

Can I take nac that's been expired for a year? Will it be less effective?

Best Answer:  No it will still be effective.

Why does it have rotten egg smell?

Best Answer:  Yes, this product does have a strong natural sulfur smell.

    Is this vegan?

Best Answer:  This is not a vegan supplement.

Where is this manufactured? United States?

Best Answer:  Yes, this item is manufactured in the USA.

    which is best vitamin?

Best Answer:  First, one must distinguish between micronutrients and macronutrients, and within the realm of micronutrients, some are vitamins, some are not. There is no useful answer to that question. I recommend Wikipedia for a better understanding of the term :"vitamins". NAC is considered to be a precursor for glutathione, and glutathione is a substance your own body can produce that acts as an anti-oxidant and thereby acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. I take it in very large amounts daily, almost at the level of micronutrients.

How and who test this product?

Best Answer:  The Vitamin Shoppe is very diligent about testing each lot of all of our raw materials for identity, purity, strength, composition, and contaminants before they can be used in the manufacturing of a Vitamin Shoppe brand supplement. Finished products are also tested at random by FDA audited, independent third-party laboratories to ensure that label claims are being met. Our manufacturers adhere to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and perform quality control checks throughout the entire manufacturing process.

    Does this contain fish products?

    Best Answer:  No

What is shelf life if buying 200 capsules using one a day?

Best Answer:  The usable shelf life is years, so 200 days will be no problem. Over time, you may notice a whiff of vinegar. That is just NAC breaking down into its components, L-cysteine and acetic acid. Aspirin does the same thing, breaking down into acetic acid and salicylic acid.

    Does this make you sleepy?

Best Answer:  No this does not contain any ingredients that will cause drowsiness

    Is it good for mucus?

Best Answer:  Not really but it does boasts immunity
