I have been using this product for a number of years because it only had ginger root in it. Sometime in the last year (don't know for sure) before I got my last order of it they changed the ingredients and started adding rice powder and silica. Am now looking for a different producer...

I started taking Ginger Root to see if would help with SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overload). I take it along with probiotics that I have been taking for years. Although the SIBO is still present it seems to be better after 3 weeks. I have tried many other products in the past without benefit so I am very pleased with the Ginger Root and I will continue to use it.

I have gastroparesis. I take Ginger root for nausea. This has helped me way better then any kind of rx pills that the doctor gave me. I tell all of my friends about this. My family even takes it if they are starting to feel sick.

Thanks so much for the info I have gastroparesis also. I'm on a feeding tube 24hrs a day due to the nausea and extreme malnutrition I have been looking for relief of the nausea so that eating occurs again so that I may return to some normalcy.

I've been using ginger root for many years for three main purposes: anti-inflammatory for osteoarthritis, anti-nausea for flatulence and for motion sickness. It also helps when I feel like I'm coming down with a bug (washed down with a large mug of green tea). I trust Vitamin Shoppe to give me the best quality and value, and I recommend it highly.

I've used ginger root, mostly from Vitamin Shoppe, for many years. There's no point in buying "premium" ginger because it's a very generic herb and the cheapest stuff still works well. I take it with or without food and as soon as the capsule opens, I feel relief from nausea. Unfortunately, I have suffered with digestive problems for over 20 years and know ginger root is always my friend. Take it with enteric peppermint oil and you can take care of upper and lower digestive tracts all at once.

A Vitamin Shoppe customer on Nov 12, 2013
Best Answer: I don't have trouble swallowing pills so I don't know if I would be much help, but if you take one at a time and use a sports water bottle, when you squeeze the bottle the rush of water will make the pill fly down your throat! I can take multiple pills by using this bottle, in fact that is the only way I take my pills.

Ginger, along with Oregano Oil, Tumeric, Garlic and Cinnamon would be an excellent start with supplements.

I just received my order of Ginger root. My concern is: On the back where it says what the supplement contains. I see that it says (Zingiber officiate) (root). So is this a generic brand. or the real ginger root?
Why does it contain rice flour? I thought I was getting 100% ginger root.

Best Answer: These are a little thinner than the nature's way ginger capsules, so they may be easier to swallow. It's worth a try.

I really struggle to swallow the large capsuls, and with upset stomach already, having the big lump slowly moving down my throat is not ideal. Has anyone tried breaking the capsul and pouring the powder in water to drink? Does that have any adverse side effects?
