Only fish oil I will use!
This is the only fish oil I use. The EPA and DHA are among the highest. The price and taste are what I like.

Ethyl Ester form or Triglyceride form???
Ethyl Ester form or Triglyceride form???
There are basically 2 different molecular forms of Omega 3 fish oil. The triglyceride natural form - which is highly absorbable by the body - then there's the ethyl ester form/"manufactured form" - which is considerably less absorbable by the body. I attempted to ascertain which form this specific product is in. I contacted Vitamin Shoppe corporate headquarters several times via email. After some time - I finally heard back & received several different responses that contradicted one another. I was told it was in ethyl ester form & then later told in separate emails that it is definitely in 100% triglyceride form. I just do not get how a company like Vitamin Shoppe doesn't understand the formulation of their very own products. There is a significant difference between the 2 forms. I ended up returning the product. It's still a mystery to me what form it is in. It definitely concerns & disappoints me that a company like Vitamin Shoppe neither understands or is concerned about the formulation of their very own brand product. It's not as if I am being overly "nitpicky" about the question of formulation. Ethyl Ester form is barely absorbable at all by the human body. Why would I take a chance on spending decent money on a mystery product that could possibly be of zero benefit to me?

Lemon flavor is good, Citrus flavor is bitter tasting!
I bought citrus flavor by mistake and it tasted terrible! I finally was told it
it would be replaced and I thought I would be sent the lemon flavor as I did not like the citrus! But after I had already re-bought lemon myself I got sent citrus again WHICH I SAID I DON'T LIKE and had already complained a few times! SO VITAMIN SHOP I AM RETURNING THE CITRUS, IT
STILL TASTES BITTER! And I was never TOLD why the first batch tasted so bad after several repeated e-mails.????

Happy with this great Omega-3 fish oil
I enjoy the ease to order like this and everything was on time in great condition with the 10% discount. I'm happy about all that....the only thing is this isn't the only time I received the "citrus flavor" instead of the "lemon flavor" I always order.

No integrity
Hi so disappointed reading the label on the bottle when arrived and encountered that is made with soy oil and when I'm taking it I can taste it so much. When I read the ingredients on webside never saw soy oil been one of the ingredients.
Sooooooo dissatisfied and disappointed.

Good EPA and DHA amounts. Priced very well when on sale. Best for elderly who can’t swallow pills but would be great for anyone! Easy to follow directions and use!

Is this product free of mercury and pesticides? Has anyone experienced flatulence and/or diarrhea while taking this product?

Best Answer:  I don't think so. Labdoor analyzed the pill form from the Vitamin Shoppe and I'm assuming the ingredients are the same. No, it is not mercury free, or free of environmental toxins. That's probably why customer service hasn't answered this question. It contains 1 PPB (Upper Limit = 10 PPB) of Mercury, and <0.01 PPM (Upper Limit = 0.09 PPM) of environmental toxins. I haven't ordered it so I can't tell you of the effects though.

Best Answer:  The Omega 3 Fatty acid we get from plants, like chia, hemp, flax and other seeds is ALA, a short chain fatty acid. Our bodies cannot efficiently convert ALA to EPA and DHA, longer chain fatty acids. It is estimated we would need to eat four servings of cold water fish each week to get enough EPA & DHA. We still need to take EPA & DHA. Find a trusted brand and investigate their website to find out about their manufacturing processes.

Best Answer:  The vitamin shop in-store sales person in East Brunswick New Jersey said that the source/supplier of the fish oil for Carlson, which I have been taking for many years, is the same as the vitamin shoppe brand. I would like to confirm that somehow but this would help explain why it tastes the same.
