Best Answer:  In my opinion it depends on why you are applying the Castor Oil. If it is for a pre-poo (done on dry hair), I would mix this with a one of the lighter oils, like grapeseed oil. Heat them in a microwaveable bowl just a little. Mix them well and apply to your hair. Massage into your scalp and throughout your hair. Put on a shower cap for about an 30 minutes. Or under a steamer or hood dryer on low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then cleanse as usual. If you are using this as an after wash conditioner and plan to leave it in to provide conditiong to your hair, then again mix in a small amound with another light carrier oil (grapeseed, jojba, argan) or try mixing in a small amount into your leave-in coditioner. Apply lightly mostly from mid shaft to the ends of your hair. Remember this is a heavy carrier oil. So use the "light hand" as opposed to the "heavy hand" for your use with this natural product. So yes, there is a time Castor oil is used on dry and yes, there is a time for wet hair application in conjunction with it serving leave-in duty. It is a favorite for all hair types but in particular those folks with thicker and/or kinky-licious hair!

Best Answer:  In my opinion, this is an oil that is good for massaging your scalp. It is also good for the ends of your hair as a sealant. I would like to caution that you do keep in my mind that this is a thick oil. It is not able to penetrate through the cortex of the hair. So those with fine strands and thin density of hair should use this oil sparingly if it to be incorporated in the styling stage and thinned out with a much lighter oil or unless this is part of a deep hair treatment that you will later wash out of your hair.
