Does the body good. Won't disappoint.
I live by these vitamins. I have been taking them for over 20 years after my diagnosis of Thalassemia. No they are not always in stock, so I get multiple at a time especially when there is a BOGO1/2 sale. Does not cause constipation. All of the stuff a female body needs.

Great product
Easy to swallow pills and seems to be more readily absorbed than other brands I have used. And I like that it includes other essential minerals.

Blood in a pI’ll!
I am a hematology/oncology (blood and cancer) Physician Assistant. I searched high and low for 2 years for an iron pill that would work for my patients; one that they would be able to tolerate and was affordable. Most iron pills are made with ferrous sulfate which tends to cause stomach problems. This one is not. It also has vitamin C to help the iron absorb and B-12, folic acid, and a touch of copper; everything the body needs to make blood. I tell my patients it is blood in a pill. It absorbs better than most iron pills and it is inexpensive, I’ve even had success with my gastric bypass patients using it as maintenance in between iron infusions. I have recommended this iron tablet to over 2,000 patients and only three people have not been able to tolerate them. I now have two other prcationers and the chemotherapy nurses at my practice recommending them. I tried them myself for a week to make sure they did not cause any stomach upset or constipation/diarrhea and they didn’t. I really hope they get them back in stock soon! Please check with your personal doctor before taking any medications, including over the counter supplements. The best and most natural source of vitamins and minerals your body needs is in the food you eat, not from a pill. Spend your money on healthy, high quality food, not on pills. Supplements are for the occasional deficiency, they should not replace eating a healthy, well balanced diet.

highly effective
I am taking it for a mild anemia. Changing my diet for about a year did not improve the anemia. Taking the supplement for about 2-3 months improved my blood count -- even the doctor reviewing the lab work was surprised

Best Iron Absorption Of Brands I've Tried
As an adult, I tend to run towards the anemic side, which is just made worse since I do not eat red meat many days. I tried a number of brands of iron supplements over the years, but this is the best formula by far that I have used. The included vitamin C and the Bs appear help the absorption of the iron better than when I took the other supplements as separate pills. I have been happily using this product for about 8 years by this point, and regularly recommend the formula to friends and family.

Feeling of wellness at work, home and activities
We all get confused with what vitamins and minerals to take and in what forms and brands. I do use a lot of Vitamin Shoppe Brands when I can get them in capsule, veggie cap, tab or liquid forms. Hard tablets are put through a heating process that kills most of the vitamins and minerals. Iron in capsule form assists with my hair loss and dizziness of which I began experiencing since I became vegetarian. at age 40, female. My doc recommended that I go back to eating certain meats (salmon, other fish and liver) If I can't properly administer a vegetarian diet in my very very busy life working FT+, for starters. It's rendered my satisfactory results within the first 2 days... less dizzy and cold. Within 2 mos I noticed my hair growing back, but I also take this along with Amino Acid Complex, B complex Stress, Cal/Mag/Zinc and Saw Palmetto. So one or more are working. If I take out the Iron, I do notice dizziness and low energy at times. The iron is easy on my stomach.

No guarantee each bottle will be filled with same formula
I purchased a bottle of these tablets when my doctor told me I needed to take iron due to my low energy. I was feeling pretty good while taking the 100 tablets. When I ran out, I went back to the same store to get another bottle, I had the old one with me to ensure I bought the same stuff. The second bottle has really caused me some dietary issues, to the point where I have missed work. I made sure I was taking them with food and it did not help. I had to dispose of them, and I would have sooner if the first 100 pills hadn't worked so well for me. No guarantee that each bottle will have the same formula..

Why did you choose this?

Needed

It’s good to give energy

My iron stores are very low and I need something I can absorb and won’t hurt my stomach.

best value

How much elemental iron does each tab contain?
is this product is vegiterian or vegan?

Best Answer:  not sure

I thought I read that Calcium prevents your body from absorbing iron and should never be taken together?

Best Answer:  Calcium makes it harder for your body to absorb either supplemental iron or iron from food, according to the National Institutes of Health. Calcium competes for absorption with iron in your intestines and reduces its uptake. This means that a multi-mineral supplement is likely not the best way of getting iron due to the negating effects of the calcium and some other minerals.

I take my calcium at night before going to bed, and iron in the morning.

You can also get to much Iron. The body does not get rid of extra like the B's and C's vitamins. I take Iron on Monday and Thursdays.

how much ferrous fumarate is contained in each tablet?
ok for kidney patients?

Best Answer:  As always, it's best to consult your medical provider. Generally and only generally speaking, people with kidney disease will likely need supplementary iron if they aren't already making up for it in their diets. Ask your medical provider for baseline blood labs to determine your iron levels and do periodic follow ups to measure progress from any supplementation you may be taking. Bottom line: please consult your medical provider.

If calcium shouldn't be taken with this product, why does one of the ingredients consist of calcium?

Best Answer:  You take calcium with iron for better absorption of the iron. The amount of calcium in the formula is 165.5mg, which is about 17% of your daily requirement. Now, if you eat right, you are getting some calcium from your food, which may add up to your daily needs. So, you may not need to add more calcium supplements to your diet. You need calcium to absorb iron. That is why we are told to drink orange juice with our iron supplements.

I had gastric bypass RNY 13 years ago. I am anemic and have had iron infusions. I am ok now. Is this safe for me to take to avoid anemia? How many should I take each day? Thanks for your advice!

Best Answer:  Yes, it is safe to take. There are a number of factors that affect iron absorption, however, so for dosage I strongly recommend that you consult with a qualified physician and/or licensed nutritionist. (A balanced multi-vitamin with iron may even work better for you.) Good luck!

What does this pill look like? Is it round or oblong? Is it flat or spherical? What color is it, and is the color naturally occurring?

Best Answer:  Hi Denise, the pill is a naturally occurring brown oblong shape. It has no food colours or artificial flavours and contains many other minerals that give the body a great lift. It is also non constipating and this is important as so many iron based products are. It also is not difficult to swallow.

I hope this answers your questions as it is a fantastic product!
