Why did you choose this?

Low carb unflavored

Great for my smoothies. Especially when I want to switch up the fruits.

Mixes well for iced coffee

Zero carbs

Under the 'Product Info' warning, it states not to use this product for weight reduction. Why? I thought this would be a great solution to my protein needs for weight loss.

It's perfectly fine to use this as your protein supplement within a balanced diet, I do- its my favorite powder by far, it mixes well even in just your morning coffee, and I've lost a lot including or in my daily 1200 calories. I think they put that warning on there just to say 'hey, this isnt a meal replacement', because it doesn't include carbs or lipids which you need as well.

I use this product as a solution to insure I meet my protein needs from exercising and weight reduction. I think the intention of the manufacturer is that it not be used as a replacement meal but instead as a supplement. This is a very clean complete product.

I don't know why they put that on there. You would need to ask them. I don't eat much meat & alergic to soy. So I use it to supplement the lack ofpprotein that I consume.

I'm not sure why it would state that. It may be a "CYA" thing.

What is the shelf life of this product?

Hi. The last batch I ordered doesn't expire until 6/2015. It may loose some nutritional value the longer it is opened (exposed to air) but I don't know. It is a great product!

I've used this alternating between flavors over the course of a couple of months. I've never had an issue with Isopure protein clumping or not mixing well even over time. Hope this helps.

Well the label dating indicates almost 3 years. (But as long as it's sealed, it seems like it should keep much longer without degrading much.)

Hard to say as I use a big scoop everyday. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. It won't go bad, because you'll use it! It's great stuff.

I drink a shake at least every other day. 1 tub lasts approx 1.5 months for me

I recently began taking protein for recovery after my work outs. My main concern about all the protein powders I have looked into have artificial sweetners added to them, which I am not a huge fan of. I came across Isopure unflavored and thought it would be great to try considering it does not have artificial sweetners. My question is: Is this product useful for muscle recovery? Will it help in muscle growth?

This is a very sophisticated question. I would be careful who you take you answers from. Anne

I have been using protein powders my entire adult life (I'm 67) for both muscle building and recovery (as well as meal replacement). There is no other practical way to get 50 grams of protein other than using this type of powder. As you have observed the Isopure protein has the advantage of being low card and with no artificial sweeteners. If you buy the Vanilla flavor it tastes much better, but I don't want the sweetener either. Other powders have too many carbs for my purpose (cards/sugar are bad; fat is back in vogue -- see Dr. Perlmutter's book GRAIN BRAIN.) Taste is really important to some people, but what's the point? Daily I start the day with a protein shake of greens, fruit, kefir and protein powder -- it won't win any taste contests!

Yes, any complete protein source (which whey isolate is) will be useful for muscle recovery/growth.

Of course! It's the same as other whey protein isolates without the added artificial sweeteners.

Did you lose weight taking whey powder?

I had gastric bypass surgery so I use protein powders as a way to supplement my protein intake to avoid losing muscle while losing weight from the procedure. I really like the Isopure Zero because I can add as little or as much sugar free flavorings as I want to get a shake that tastes how I like it. Hope that helps!

No, because l ate too much on the holidays

  Nope. Was not trying to.

Does this product contain wheat and/or gluten?

Isopure Zero is made gluten and lactose free. However, the label also states that it is produced in a facility that may have soy, dairy, egg, wheat, peanuts or tree nuts. You may be able to get more info at the company website.RegardsLinda

it is gluten free and wheat free. It says on the container that it is produced in a facility where wheat ingredients are handled but the powder itself has no wheat or gluten in it.

I'm not aware of any whey powder that intentionally contains wheat - this one is no different. (It doesn't have any allergen warning anywhere on the container.)

Label says gluten and lactose free. Didn't see any mention of wheat on the label.

Do you gain weight?

I had a Gastric Bypass about 5 1/2 years ago and have to have a certain amount of protein a day. This product goes in many things, shake or hot chocolate, or most anything. It is really versatile.

I wouldn't say I gain weight from the protein, it isn't a weight gainer. I find it to be the best protein out of all of the commercially sold proteins. I gain lean muscle. So to answer the question I would say no, based on my experience. It should help you lose fat, and your muscles to possibly be more defined than ever. I have tried other proteins and only purchase this for myself. It is great for muscle recovery.

This is pure protein. It's not possible to gain weight purely from consuming protein. But in combination with weight training it will facilitate muscle gain, sure.

No it help to fill you up. Helps you stay full a little longer.

Does this product cause constipation?

Certainly not. It's almost purely protein. At really bizarre levels (there are stories of people taking 400+ grams per day hoping to get big without much work) protein can be a diuretic, actually.

Quite the opposite in my opinion! I've never felt better since adding this to my morning smoothies!

I've never had a problem with it, but I use it in smoothies with kale, avocado, and green tea.

  Nope

Can the powder be added to hot liquids -- e.g., coffee?

My suggestion (with all protein powders) is to mix the powder with enough cool or room temperature liquid to make a paste and then add the hot liquid. For example if you want to add this to coffee and you also add milk/almond milk/etc to your coffee, mix the powder with the milk then add to the coffee. I like to add it to oatmeal. I mix the protein with a splash of water, maybe 2 tablespoons, just enough to moisten the powder, then add the cooked/hot oatmeal while stirring.Other tips-Mix with a fork not a spoon. If the liquid is hot enough to burn your tongue, it may still be hot enough to cook the protein. (so if you like molten hot coffee, this may not work for you)If the protein cooks, ie gets clumpy, it is still fine to eat, though if you have texture issues you may fine it unappealing.Adding some fat before you add the hot liquid seems to provide a bit of protection. So for the oatmeal example, mix protein with water, then add some almond butter, then add the cooked (hot oatmeal). If you do the bulletproof coffee thing, the butter/oil may provide the same effect.

Isopure is difficult to dissolve in a liquid. My husband drinks it in cold and warm drinks by putting the powder in first, then stirring in cold liquid. I think that he heats the drinks after they are stirred. I put the Isopure into my cereal and then add milk. However, my cereal is a granola, so I think that if you want to put it your cereal, you will have to dissolve it in the milk first.

I never tried it in a hot liquid like tea or coffee. I think it would dissolve alright, but it will change the taste. Even though this product is unflavored, that doesn't mean it doesn't have a taste. I used this product with gatorade or in a fruit smoothy. I couldn't drink it in just water.

i tried mixing it with hot milk, dint work out well, best served when cold

how many servings are in a container of this product?

Gads - I would say at least a hundred. I split the plain with the vanilla & I'm doing a new order roughly every 6 months or so.franklin

For a serving of 29 grams you get 47 servings per container. I've been using this for years, very happy with it.

about 47 servings in each container

Isopure zero-carb, unflavored whey protein powder featuring protein isolate may be exactly what you're looking for to supplement your diet. Whey protein is a complete protein. That means it contains all nine essential amino acids – and those amino acids are what your body uses to make proteins that break down food, repair body tissue, and tackle other bodily functions. Your body can't produce essential amino acids. They have to come from food, such as meat and eggs, or from supplements that contain them.

Isopure unflavored protein powder

Isopure Zero Carb Protein contains 100-percent natural whey protein isolate. This vegetarian formula is free from corn, egg, fish, nuts, and wheat, and it doesn't contain yeast or sugar. You can add one rounded scoop – that's a serving – to any hot or cold drink.

What is whey protein isolate?

One serving of Isopure's unflavored whey protein contains 26 grams of unadulterated whey protein isolate. Whey protein isolate, or simply whey isolate, is a dietary supplement that has a high protein content. During the manufacturing process, whey protein is separated from fat, cholesterol, and lactose. The end product is a highly pure whey protein isolate.

Ginger root in a 7-day detox

Ginger is often used as a spice in foods, but it's been used for more than 2,000 years in Ayurveda and Chinese medical traditions, as well. It's also the primary ingredient in ginger ale, which some people drink when they're feeling under-the-weather.

Amino acids and BCAAs

Every serving of this vegetarian whey protein isolate contains 5,668 milligrams of branched-chain amino acids, or BCCAs. BCCAs are three of the nine essential amino acids – leucine, isoleucine, and valine. These three amino acids promote glycogen storage in your muscles, providing fuel and minimizing protein breakdown when you exercise. Having sufficient BCAAs can help maintain stamina during a workout because glycogen is the fuel muscles need to keep going.

L-glutamine in Isopure whey protein isolate

Each scoop of Isopure unflavored protein powder contains 2.57 grams of L-glutamine, which is one of the 20 naturally occurring amino acids. L-glutamine makes up between 30 and 35 percent of the amino acid nitrogen in your body. Although your body does produce L-glutamine, it's known as a conditionally essential amino acid because, under certain circumstances such as intense exercise or extreme illness, people may require more than the body can produce on its own.

Who needs protein?

Every cell in your body contains protein, and you need to consume it regularly to help repair damaged cells and create new ones. The older you get, the more protein you need to take in through foods and supplements. That's because your body becomes less efficient at using amino acids for muscle protein synthesis. Plant proteins are often limiting in some of the nine essential amino acids, so if you only consume plant-based protein, you may need to supplement your diet. The nine essential amino acids are called essential because your body can't produce them, but they're absolutely necessary to optimal health.

How to use Isopure Zero Carb Protein

Adding Isopure Zero Carb Protein to your diet is as easy as mixing a smoothie, stirring a scoop into your food, or blending it with any other drink – even water.
