      Recommended by my hairstylist to maintain my healthy natural hair. I've been taking 2 capsules twice a day for 5+ years (total of 4 capsules daily). They're easy to swallow. If the capsule opens the taste is not the best. I've noticed the capsules compliment my healthy hair regimen of no chemicals, no to little heat, & hydrate hair. I have fine hair & after taking the horesetail pills I noticed my hair became stronger & shedded less. I searched across town for horsetail pills & was only lucky to find at Vitamin Shoppe who keeps them in stock.

        Taking Horsetail Grass is really to benefit the bones, skin, hair, nails and connective tissue as it facilitates the absorption of calcium by the body. None of my reference books recommend it for incontinence. A few things that are included; free form amino acid (helps to strengthen the bladder muscle, use one from a vegetable source, calcium and magnesium (aids in controlling bladder spasms) and zinc (for improved bladder function). "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" has some good information regarding this condition. My blog, healthymenaturally is all about my experiences and use of natural remedies. Good luck,

        I took Horsetail for it's astringent qualities, for kidney support, but not for incontinence, however, incontinence is one of the things that Horsetail is noted for. The astringent quality is what may help you. It would be worth giving Horsetail a try. I have always been satisfied with the results I've gotten and the Nature's Way brand.

        I've taken Horsetail for quite a while for bone density. I've been very pleased with the results. One of the bonuses I've noticed is hair & nail growth. Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any affect on urinary incontinence.

        I have thyroid issues as well. I have been taking this for many many years to give my super fine hair more body, which it does. Since I have been taking it so long, I don't know if it helps with growth or thinning.

        I do think it has strengthen my hair and made it a bit thicker, but I don't think it will reverse actual hair loss (maybe slow it down).

      I was looking for a product that would help with heavy menstrual bleeding. An herbalist suggested that I try this. Has anyone else used it for the same purpose and has it helped any? Thanks!

        Hi Sarah,
      I haven't read or heard of horsetail grass being used for heavy menstrual bleeding. It has been a part of my vitamin and herb regiment for years because it is a good source of silica which is important for healthy bones, skin, teeth and hair. One of my reference books recommends the herb Shepherd's Purse, bioflavonoids, chlorophyll and some other products for your problem. Check them out. Hope this has been helpful.

        I take it to make my hair and nails stronger. I didn't know it was good for others things. You may want to check out evening primrose and fenugreek. Also check a mineral solution like silver. I can't really list it here and it's hard to find. Look into Angstrom mineral water soluble minerals.
