In reference to Dawn K's review
I believe Vitamin Shoppe tests all its products, if not, Consumer Labs does. A few months ago, while trying to find a cheaper product than calsons liquid fish oil, I read the Consumer Labs report on fish oil. Consumer labs tested vitamin shoppe fish oils and found it free of contaminants. In regards to taste, it taste pretty much the same as calsons. They all taste a little fishy. I just take my dose and have a bite of food immediately afterwards to get the taste out of my mouth. Ive had my

Not bad at all
This fish oil IS tested for contaminants. Vitamin Shoppe brand is often higher quality than the other brands on the shelf and their products go through thorough testing. I was very squeamish about swallowing oil, but this has absolutely no fishy flavor, and it's so concentrated that you only need to take a small amount. The benefit of getting 1300 mg dha/epa definitely makes it worth taking.

This fish oil is NOT tested for contaminants
When using fish oil, you need to be sure that the product is made from fish that are found in the deepest waters and are tested to be free from mercury, pcb's and other contaminants. I will NOT buy a product that is not tested to be free from these harmful substances. Try Nordic naturals or Barleans. Carlsons used to be at the top of my list until they upped the price 50%.>> A Vitamin Shoppe Customer commented on this review on 2011-11-16All Vitamin Shoppe products are tested for

Not heavy or fishy tasting at all!
The Omega 3 fatty acids are a necessary part of a healthy diet. Fish oil is a good way to get it if your diet is lacking. I've only been using this product for a couple of weeks. I also take a TwinLabs fish oil capsule. The liquid gives you a more potent dose of Omega 3s. Time will tell if I feel any better with the addition. The taste is very mild. Hard to tell it is even fish oil. Fairly thin liquid which goes down easy. Produced in Germany which should indicate a quality product since they

Great product!
I went in and asked for a good quality fish oil and mentioned that I was taking a gel cap with lemon oil added to minimize the fishy taste of the burps.

Why did you choose this?

Bone growth

Decided to go back to basics. Grandma always gave us liquid fish oil. Decided to take advantage of more expensive formulation during BOGO to see if better than capsules.

It has great absorption and it has a high EPA and DHA.

Needed this to add this to my morning smoothies in order to absorb other vitamins (fat soluble) And to help with my hair thinning.

the bottle does not say it is mercury free, so is it safe to assume there could be mercury in this?

Best Answer:  I don't have an answer...Excellent question...would like to know that myself...

How do you store this product and what is its shelf life? I was hoping to order a few and store a few bottles so that I have quite a bit to keep around so I don't have to keep ordering it every few months. There will be 3 of us taking it.
I'm on the Atkins diet. How many carbohydrates are there per serving? Are there preservatives/ sugar?

There are no carbs. The 40 calories per serving also comes from the far. This is healthy fat also... Great product due to the epa/dha content per serving.

There are no carbs or sugars in this fish oil (or any other fish oil that I know of). Not sure about preservatives.

How much Vitamin D does this product contain?

Best Answer:  I don't know. I don't have it anymore. I couldn't tolerate the taste.

Is this product molecularly distilled?

Best Answer:  Sorry, I do not know.

is this product is usefull??
I've been taking this product for the past 6+ months and never refrigerated (eyesight not so good and didn't see on label to refrigerate until I was looking with magnifying glass today). Now I'm concerned that I've done harm to myself, does anyone know about this? I did also just take another dose before I saw it. Thank you.
