Gentle Iron
I bought the bottle after reading all the write-ups. I took it for about two weeks or more, and yes, I could "feel" the difference, but the top of my tongue became all brown instead of the normal pink. I am off the pills for over a week and tongue brown is lessening. It is just a weird happening.

I have recently increased my gentle iron to 2 tablets a day (total of 50 mg) my stools have turned black should I worry ??I am anemic.

My doc wants me on 325 mg of slow release Iron or the equivalent. How much of this is needed to match the amount above?

Best Answer:  Your doctor is likely recommending the ferrous sulfate amount (most common), which equates to 65mg of elemental iron.

This gentle iron contains 25mg of elemental iron so you'd need 2-3 capsules to match the amount of iron in 325mg ferrous sulfate.

However, please confirm the exact dosage with your doctor.

(Answering because my aunt's doctor had the same "325mg" recommendation, and it took me a while to figure out this info!)

Best Answer:  I'm not sure if it will straighten out irregular periods. That's something you should ask your doctor about. However, iron is very important for women and it's difficult to obtain enough from the foods we eat. This particular iron supplement is excellent and I highly recommend it.

I am anemic. My doctor recommended I take Iron twice a day. This product says once a day. How many should I take?

Best Answer:  Ask your doctor how many MILLIGRAMS of iron you should take in a day. The US government recommends 18 milligrams per day for the average person. But since you are anemic, your doctor may want you to take more than 18 milligrams. Each Gentle Iron capsule contains 25 milligrams of iron. By government standards that is more than enough for the average person. Ask your doctor how many MILLIGRAMS of iron he wants you to take in a day. Good luck.
