These are small tablets--they can actually melt under your tongue--so yes they are chewable. But the issue is whether they work. I Chose These because I had read that if you take Melatonin and still wake up during the night (which I did) try time-released Melatonin.

This product made me tired very fast but I still woke up during the night!!!! The bottle says that if you take a full tablet, be prepared to sleep for a full 8 hours, yet I woke up after only 3!!!!

  Personally I do not chew the tablets. I believe chewing the tablets would interfere with the time release components of the supplement. Probably not a good idea to do this if you desire the slow release of the melatonin.

  You could chew it. I haven't tried it that way. It certainly works taken as directed. Even when a product is open and used I get store credit if I need to return it to VS.

  I've always had poor results with regular ( non time release) melatonin, as it never kept me asleep the whole night. This was the first time release melatonin I came across in my 4 or 5 years using the product. It works wonderfully, it takes about 30 minutes from ingestion to feel drowsy and then pretty much knocks me out from there into a restful sleep. However there are some caveats, and these would apply to any type of melatonin really; once the melatonin is ingested do your best to keep your eyes from being in contact with light even if that means going to the bathroom with only a flashlight or night light ( melatonin, natural or synthetic is "deactivated" when light tpuches our eyes). Another caveat is alcohol, don't expect this to work after consuming alcohol. I also don't recommend taking more than the directed dose as it can make you groggy and cause headache the next day.

  I bought this product and use it in conjunction with VS Snooze In. I take them both one hour before bed. Definitely helps me to fall asleep but the jury is still out on whether it helps much in keeping me asleep. Will finish the bottle and see what happens when I don't take it at all.

  Extended release helps you stay asleep and the quick release helps you fall asleep faster. Start with a low dose so you know how it will effect you.

  I take the 5mg 30 minutes before I fall asleep. It helps me fall asleep quickly and I wake up refreshed.

  Most melatonin labels do not recommend melatonin for children. However, my autistic grandson's DAN doctor suggested melatonin for him in spray form when he was around 2 years old and it worked very well for helping him to sleep. He was given doses according to his weight which was a much lower dose. Hope this helps.

  I think this is a question best answered by your pediatrician. I would never think to give this to an infant myself.

  Always ask your pediatrician if it is okay for melatonin or anything else you may want to try.

  when you look on a vitimin chart you see that b6 is a sleep aid. .....so i'm sure since melatonin which we usually produce in our bodies younger doesn't produce it as we age......so putting the two together in one tablet just makes me believe we now have a tablet or pill which gives us the max assistance in sleeping. I'm a big guy so i take 4 tablets to get it to work for me all natural.
